Home Legal Cookies Cookie Policy

Less than a teaspoon. And no advertising.

We use the bare minimum cookies needed to run this site — plus one privacy-friendly analytics cookie. No Facebook Pixel. No Google Analytics. No third-party advertising trackers.

01What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, pixels, fingerprints — work like cookies but use different storage mechanisms. For brevity we say "cookies" throughout this policy and treat all of them the same way.

Cookies do useful things: keep you logged in, remember your preferences, count visitors. They can also be used to track you across sites for advertising — which is what most people don't want. Our policy is simple: we don't do that.

02Our approach

We deliberately operate on the leanest cookie footprint we can:

  • Privacy by default — we don't load any non-essential cookies until you opt in.
  • No advertising trackers — no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no TikTok Pixel, no AdRoll.
  • No GA4 — we use Plausible Analytics, an EU-hosted, GDPR-compliant analytics tool that doesn't use cookies for tracking and never collects personal data.
  • No cross-site tracking — we never embed third-party scripts that profile you across the web.
  • One small banner — only when required by your jurisdiction. Reject-all is one click and doesn't reduce site functionality.
The TL;DR: if you do nothing, we set 2 essential cookies and 1 anonymised analytics ping. That's it.

03Types we use

Essential (always on)

These keep the site working — security, session continuity, remembering your cookie choice. They don't require consent under ePrivacy / GDPR because the site cannot function without them. You can block them in your browser, but pages may break.

Analytics (privacy-friendly, opt-out)

We use Plausible Analytics to count visitors and understand which pages help. Plausible is cookieless on the visitor side — it works by hashing IP+UA per day. We've configured it to share zero personal data with us.

Functional / preference

If you set a preference (e.g. accepting/declining the cookie banner), we store that locally so we don't ask you again every visit.

Marketing / advertising

None. If we ever add one, we'll update this page first and require explicit opt-in.

04Cookies we set

Complete list of the cookies (and cookie-equivalents) you may encounter on this site:

NameTypePurposeLifespan
mxz_consent Essential Remembers your cookie-banner choice (accept / reject / dismiss) 12 months
mxz_session Essential Holds form state during a visit (e.g. partially filled contact form) Session only
__cf_bm Essential Cloudflare bot management — tells humans from bots, blocks abuse 30 minutes
plausible_ignore Functional Set if you opt out of analytics — keeps you out of stats counts 10 years (until you clear)

That's the complete list. No retargeting, no advertising, no profiling.

05Third-party services

Some pages embed content hosted by third parties. These embeds may set their own cookies under their own privacy terms — but only when you actively interact with them on our site.

  • Google Fonts — fonts loaded via fonts.googleapis.com. We've configured this to be served without cookies and with referrer trimming. Google Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) — if a page embeds a YouTube video, we use youtube-nocookie.com. Cookies set only if you click play. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Calendly — for the "Book a strategy call" flow. Calendly sets its own cookies only when you open their widget. Calendly Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare — CDN/security in front of every page. Sets __cf_bm as listed above.

06Manage cookies

On this site

Use the cookie banner that appears on your first visit, or click "Cookie preferences" in the footer to change your choice at any time. Reject-all is one click and never disables core functionality.

In your browser

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. This applies to all websites, not just ours.

Opt out of analytics

Plausible is cookieless and respects DNT (Do Not Track) by default. To explicitly opt out, click here: Opt out of analytics. We'll set the plausible_ignore cookie so you stay out of our visitor stats.

07Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) header or the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat that as a clear opt-out from non-essential tracking. No analytics ping is recorded.

You don't need to do anything else — the signal alone is enough.

08Changes

If we add, remove, or change a cookie, we'll update this page and refresh the "Last updated" date. For material changes — like adding a new third-party tool — we'll show the cookie banner again so you can review and decide.

09Contact
